Boyle Transportation wins Grand Prize for National Fleet Safety
Boyle Transportation was awarded the Grand Prize for National Fleet Safety by the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA)."This is one of the proudest moments in our company's 47 year history" said co-President, Andrew Boyle, who accepted the award on behalf of the company.
For the fourth consecutive year, Boyle Transportation was named one of 20 Best Fleets to Drive For in North America.The program publicly recognizes the for-hire carriers providing the best workplaces for their professional drivers. Organized by the Truckload Carriers Association, the four-stage evaluation is conducted by an independent third party measuring driver workplace factors such as compensation, benefits, policies, and programs.
Boyle Transportation joins Blockchain in Transport Alliance
Boyle Transportation has joined the Blockchain In Transport Alliance (BiTA). BiTA was established in 2017 to facilitate the development of blockchain standards for the logistics industry. Boyle Transportation, a leader in the application of technology to freight transportation, seeks to aid in the standards development process.
Boyle Transportation was once again honored with the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) Distinguished Service Award. We're happy to support NDTA in its educational mission to foster a strong and efficient transportation system for national security and we're grateful for this acknowledgement. NDTA has over 5,500 members including active military service members and 233 corporate members. Col. Rick Araniz USA (Ret.), Operations Director, accepted the award at the NDTA Fall Meeting in St. Louis on behalf of our entire team at Boyle Transportation.
The Boyle Transportation Tuition Grant program has helped put more than a hundred children of employees through college over the years. 2017 marks our program's 26th year.
Today starts National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. As we know, our industry serves a vital role in the United States economy. Trucks deliver nearly 70% of all freight tonnage, and more than 80% of communities depend solely on trucking for deliveries of their goods. One out of every 16 people working in the United States is employed in a trucking-related job, and 3.4 million of those are commercial drivers.
Boyle Transportation is making a $2,500 donation to the American Red Cross to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. We were all moved by the scenes of devastation in the Houston area, by the heroic rescue efforts of first responders and neighbors and by the resolve of those affected to put their lives back together.
John Hubbard places third in Massachusetts Truck Driving Championship
Professional driver John Hubbard from Boyle Transportation placed third at the Massachusetts Truck Driving Championship in the difficult Sleeper division (tractor with sleeper berth and 53' semi trailer) at the New England Tractor Trailer Training School in North Andover, MA.
