Boyle Transportation joins Blockchain in Transport Alliance

November 29, 2017

Boyle Transportation has joined the Blockchain In Transport Alliance (BiTA). BiTA was established in 2017 to facilitate the development of blockchain standards for the logistics industry. Boyle Transportation, a leader in the application of technology to freight transportation, seeks to aid in the standards development process.

"Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies have many potential applications in logistics from smart contracts that facilitate tracking of multi-modal movements and ultimately connect to supply chains of individual items to more targeted examples such as customs clearance or even a virtual clearinghouse of drug testing results for professional drivers," commented Marc Boyle, President and CEO of Boyle Transportation. "The key challenge will be to achieve consensus on standards that deliver business value and overcome some of the limitations and hype currently surrounding blockchain." Boyle Transportation supports BiTA's goal "to bring together leading companies in the freight technology industries that have a vested interest in the development of blockchain technology."

Boyle Transportation is a specialized carrier focused on high-security freight transportation for customers in Life Sciences and Defense.
