Will I be a Company driver, Owner/Operator, Contract Driver?
All Boyle drivers are employees of the company
How is my pay calculated? Our compensation structure includes pay for both miles and time. During the first year of employment, team drivers are paid $0.21/mile each, plus $10 each per stop and $10 each per hour of detention. Monday through Friday, if your miles, stops and detention do not add up to at least $150, you qualify for a guaranteed wage of $150 per person. Saturday layover pay starts at $88. In addition, drivers receive a non-taxable $25 food allowance per diem in their expense account for every day spent over the road.
What is a typical earnings week for first year team drivers? First year, over-the-road team drivers typically average $1,200 to $1,400 gross wages per person for a full seven day work week. Regional teams typically average $950 to $1,100 gross wages per person for a full five day work week. This is not a guarantee, but rather an estimate based on 2006 average wages for actual first year team drivers. Some weeks are greater and some are less. These figures do not include per diem allowance, cell phone stipend or any other benefits.
How is the per diem compensated?
For every day spent over the road, a $25 food allowance is deposited in your expense account. This amount is not taxed and is completely separate from payroll. For most teams, this results in additional annual compensation of $6,500 to $7,300 per person.
How is mileage calculated?
Drivers are paid traveled, dispatched miles as opposed to household goods or freight bill mileage.
